FounderFiles – Nehal Kazim by Jordy Beale and Reide Pastor-Baranek

Co-founders, Nehal Kazim and Michael Dennis have set out on a journey to create an adaptive learning platform for high school students in North America called Professor Pass.  After Nehal struggled through a finance course and couldn’t find an affordable and knowledgeable tutor, he decided to do something about it.   The company originally started as an online video tutoring platform for university students but eventually evolved to a platform for high school students.  Professor Pass consists of three components—pre-recorded videos, practice questions and analytics—ensuring a student’s road to success!

While the journey hasn’t been easy, Nehal has found it both exciting and challenging.  Although, Professor Pass originally started with five co-founders, and eventually shrunk down to two, the partners have been able to maintain their progress.  With a team of two developers, an advisory board of three industry professionals, a prototype of the platform, and work space in the Digital Media Zone, the company has wasted no time dwelling on their skeptics.  Professor Pass is also involved with SIFE, Start Me Up Ryerson, the Business Plan Competition and a combination of Ryerson Professors.

Nehal, a fourth year Entrepreneurship major and Finance minor, has funded his venture himself up until this point and hopes to turnover a profit within the next six months.  Despite his full course load, his involvement as Vice President of Business Development with SIFE, and his internship at Skylight Global Investments, he finds his life has turned into a total juggling act.
